Seal Beach CA Kybella®

What is Kybella®?

Kybella® is the first and only FDA-approved injectable that eliminates under-chin fat cells. Kybella® is a deoxycholic acid, which is a naturally occurring molecule in your body, that aids in the breakdown of absorption of fat. Kybella® helps reduce chin fullness by targeting fat cells at the site of the injection, effectively eliminating that fat for good. Kybella® is a non-surgcail alternative to a neck lift as it targets the same neck and under-chin area that results in the dreaded double-chin.

Am I a good candidate?

Good candidates are relatively healthy adults suffering from excessive under-chin or neck fat that neither diet nor exercise seem to help.

What is the procedure like?

The procedure takes only about 15 to 20 minutes. During the procedure your Kybella®-trained doctor will administer several small injections under your chin. The number of injections will vary from patient to patient. This is a virtually painless procedure, similar to any Botox procedure.

How many treatments do I need?

The number of treatments needed will vary from patient to patient, depending on the amount of submental fat you have and your desired results. Your Kybella®-trained doctor will advise you on the optimal plan for you, but the majority of patients needed six treatments.* Keep in mind that each Kybella® treatment should be spaced out at least 1 month apart and you should not receive more than six treatments. May patients will start to see results after two treatments (or less), but you can expect to see the optimal results shortly after your last treatment.

What’s the recovery like?

After your Kybella® treatments you can immediately resume your daily routine. You may experience some swelling, bruising or temporary numbness under your chin. Any exaggerated side effects, such as difficulty swallowing or facial muscle weakness, should be immediately reported to your doctor. According to mykebella.com, clinical studies showed that facial muscle weakness was prevalent in 4% of patients and difficulty swallowing was prevalent in only 2% of patients*. Most patients recovered from all side effects in less than a week.
