How does Kybella Work to Reduce Double Chin?

Kybella is a great alternative to liposuction for people longing to get rid of their unwanted double chin. It is the only injectable treatment approved by the FDA for reducing submental fat or fat below the chin, and it has produced some impressive results, as patients have gotten very nice improvements. But how does Kybella work to reduce a double chin.

Kybella is a non-surgical solution for fat under the chin. It improves the shape and contour of the jawline, with minimal risk and very little downtime.

How does Kybella Work to Reduce Double Chin?
The active ingredient in Kybella is deoxycholic acid, which is an enzyme that is naturally present in the body, and is used to help metabolize fat. When injected into the subcutaneous fat below the chin deoxycholic acid works in a similar manner. It destroys the cell membrane, and the body then breaks down the dissolved fat.

Each Kybella treatment consists of several injections. It may take a series of 2-4 treatments to see the desired results, depending on the amount of fat below the chin. Treatments are usually spaced about 4 weeks apart.

Are you a good candidate?
Kybella works best on individuals that have pockets of fat under the chin that they would like to reduce. It is not recommended for obese individuals, or for people that have a lot of excess skin below the chin.
